Hypnosis and thus Virtual Gastric Band Hypnosis is very relaxing and pleasurable and has no side effects as it is a totally hypnotic process.  You will feel very very relaxed and aware during the procedure (neither asleep or unconscious) and you will remain in control all the way through. It is nothing like you see stage hypnotists doing and the hypnotherapist can't make you do anything, unless of course you want to and it is right for you! 

You will need to be committed to your weight loss program, as with any gastric band procedure virtual or not - you have to follow some rules and you have to stick to it for it to be successful. It is best suited for people with a  BMI of 30 or above, however you may still be suitable if your  BMI is above 25. Next step - if you have ticked the two previous boxes, then its time for a consultation with Nigel to discuss your weight, eating habits and lifestyle the results of which will help to determine your suitability.   If your BMI is less than 25 or you feel Virtual Hypnotic Gastric Band is not suitable for you then you may like to consider our other weight loss options.  

Once completed you will have to adapt your lifestyle to suit the new you. The key to your success is YOU! No weight loss or diet system will work unless you commit yourself to losing weight and you have to be prepared to adapt and change your eating habits to get the maximum effect. You have to be very serious about losing weight.

Of course there can be no definite guarantees even a surgeon cannot guarantee that an actual gastric band will work - you can always liquidise cake, chocolate and burgers if you like.  No system will work if you are not 100% committed. Initially when you come along for a consultation we will discuss the Virtual or Hypnotic Gastric Band Procedure, your eating habits, lifestyle and the possible triggers and anxieties that cause you to  eat more. This initial consultation is an assessment of your suitability for this procedure and if you are not suitable or ready we will discuss alternatives.  Once the consultation is over and if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment, your course of treatment will run as follows:

Introduction to hypnosis, emotional clearance to clear any past psychological and emotional reasons for overeating.  You will receive a CD to take away with you that you must listen to every day before your next session. You will also be asked to keep a food and activity diary and be given an eating plan.  Allow up to 2 hours for this session.

This is either your Virtual or Hypnotic Gastric Band fitting session or the clearing session depending on how we got on at session 1. Leading up to and following your "Surgery Session" you will be asked to follow some routine pre and post op instructions.

Is either your Virtual Hypnotic Gastric Band fitting session or a further session for you if feel you may need an adjustment to your band.  However, adjustment is rarely needed, so session 3 or 4 tends to be more of a follow up session, to check that everything is progressing as expected. This is usually about 6 weeks after your "surgery session".

You are investing in a package that can be 3 to 5 sessions depending on your needs and this will be worked out at each session.
